Laser and Radio Frequency (RF) Rejuvenation

eMatrix Sublative Rejuvenation

Want to love how you look without makeup and in photos?  Over the years, skin naturally loses collagen and becomes a road map of life’s ups and downs.  Whether you have sun damage, acne scars, or fine lines and wrinkles, eMatrix™ can help restore your skin’s youthful look. Sublative Rejuvenation Treatments brighten, balance and restore skin vitality from the inside out. Experience improvement in the appearance of wrinkles, scars, age spots, and other skin irregularities. Your skin will regain its elasticity through collagen production.

Sublative Rejuvenation with eMatrix™ is a unique procedure which uses radio frequency to deliver an effective but controlled ablative and non-ablative fractional treatment that improves wrinkles, scars, large pores, texture and firmness of the skin.  Similar to "Fraxel" it uses radiofreqeuency (electrical) energy, as opposed to laser. Each pulse delivers the radio frequency energy via a grid of matrix spots, inducing a skin injury which is maximized in these tiny, targeted areas. Fibroblasts activated within these “zones” signal collagen to regenerate and remodel, yielding improved skin tone and texture. Meanwhile, the surrounding “untreated” tissue then helps to support and accelerate the healing process in the skin. Usually a series of three to five treatments is needed for optimal results.

How Does It Work?

eMatrix™ technology provides a state-of- the-art Sublative Rejuvenation treatment through the application of radiofrequency energy.  Featured recently on The Rachael Ray Show and The Doctors, this treatment is a popular alternative to invasive face lifts. eMatrix treatment is different in that it uses fractionated bi-polar radiofrequency to penetrate through the skin. Energy is delivered beneath the skin to maximize collagen production and stimulate cell growth, while keeping the top skin layer intact.

What To Expect

Clients experience improvement in the appearance of wrinkles, scars, age spots, enlarged pores, and other skin irregularities. Skin resurfacing results appear gradually. Maximum long-term effect is usually noted 2-4 months after the conclusion of treatments.

What are the risks and side effects of Sublative Resurfacing?

Treatment discomfort is minimized by the application of a topical anesthetic one hour prior to treatment.  Following the procedure, you can expect to experience symptoms similar to that of a sunburn i.e., redness and mild swelling that may last a few hours to a couple of days.

How will I look and feel after Sublative Rejuvenation?

Most patients have redness and mild swelling for a few hours and up to 3 days following treatment.  Make-up may be applied immediately following treatment. Tiny crusts develop in the treatment area which may last for 5-14 days; these can be easily camouflaged with makeup and are often not noticeable after the second day.  Results will develop over time and with subsequent treatments. Full results can be appreciated at three to six months following the last treatment. One maintenance treatment is recommended every 6 months.

CO2RE®  Fractional Laser

CO2RE®  is considered the best single treatment for advanced skin damage and wrinkling. It is the best option for those wishing to get the most results with just one treatment. Just one  CO2RE® treatment makes a DRAMATIC difference in one’s skin appearance. Skin tone, texture, fine lines, wrinkles, scarring, sun damage, age spots, skin laxity and uneven coloration improve.  CO2RE® treatments are often performed on the face, neck, chest and hands. Syneron’s Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Fractional Laser “CO2RE” resurfaces skin by removing layers of skin tissue in columns leaving surrounding skin undamaged. The result is a treatment that is fast, more comfortable and requires less downtime than traditional resurfacing.

How do I know if CO2RE® treatments are right for me?

Ideal candidates for  CO2RE® are 30 or older with sun damaged skin, rough texture, or other skin imperfections. Conventional resurfacing procedures can result in lengthy downtime. The  CO2RE® is ideally suited for anyone seeking younger looking skin with less downtime than conventional resurfacing.

What is the CO2RE® procedure like?

Topical anesthetic is applied prior to the procedure. Individual pain thresholds vary widely. Pain medication requirements are assessed during consultations to make best efforts to manage discomfort during and after treatments. Over the counter pain relievers may be taken in the days following the procedure to alleviate any residual discomfort.

How many CO2RE® treatments will I need?

Generally you will see the difference you are seeking after only one treatment. In the days following treatment, your skin will gradually look softer and smoother. Age spots and uneven textures will show immediate improvement.

How long will the results last?

The durability of  CO2RE® results is similar to that of surgical procedures. However, there are a number of variables that will determine how long you can expect the results to last. These variables include your general health and lifestyle, age and how you care for your skin after treatment.

What can I expect after my procedure?

Following the procedure, you can expect a sunburn sensation, which lasts several hours to a couple of days. You will need to keep your skin moist and hydrated following treatment. Dead skin in the treatment area will peel following treatment and this natural exfoliation process may last 7-10 days. Moisturizers and sunscreen lotion is strongly recommended during the healing process and for the weeks and months following treatment.

Am I a good candidate?

Those looking to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, skin laxity or scarring with minimal downtime are good candidates for this procedure.  Following treatment you can expect a noticeable reduction of fine lines, wrinkles and scarring in addition to improved skin tone & texture and decreased laxity.  On average, most results appear over a period of three to six months (it takes time for collagen to grow), but some patients notice results shortly after treatment.

How long does a Gentle laser hair removal treatment take?

A treatment can take as little as a few minutes to as long as an hour, depending on the treatment area and the condition being treated. Both legs can often be treated in as few as 30 minutes, as can an average-sized man’s back.

Is Gentle laser hair removal painful?

Some patients may feel slight discomfort, which has been compared to snapping a rubber band against the skin. This discomfort resolves quickly and is minimized by our patented Dynamic Cooling Device. Be sure and talk this over with Dr. DuPont.

How many treatments will I need?

Multiple treatments are required to achieve the full hair removal effect. That’s because hair grows in three stages:

  • Anagen (the growth stage). Hair is thickest and darkest, so laser treatments are most effective.

  • Catagen (the transitional stage). The hair begins to loosen from its follicle.

  • Telogen (the shedding stage). The hair falls out to make room for new growth.

The hairs on your body are not always at the same stage, so you’ll need to undergo a few treatments, an average of six weeks apart, to catch them all in the growth stage.

How do I prepare for my Gentle laser hair removal treatments & what can I expect after?

For about six weeks prior to treatment, you should avoid plucking, electrolysis or waxing. On the day of your treatment, skin should be clean-shaven and thoroughly cleansed of any makeup, creams, oils, topical anesthetics or self-tanning products. Apply sunblock (SPF 30 or above) before your treatment.

Do not expose the treatment area to sunlight or tanning booth light prior to or immediately after treatment. If you have a history of herpes simplex virus, a prophylactic antiviral therapy may be prescribed.

A cool compress or gel pack may be applied for additional comfort after your treatment. Any redness or swelling should resolve in a few hours.

After your laser treatment, prevent sun exposure by applying sunblock (SPF 30 or above). In the first few days after treatment, don’t scrub or rinse the treated areas with abrasive skin cleansers. Your practitioner may advise additional precautions.
